Hey!

We are a group of Aussies

- Andrew, Akika, Matt, Aleisha, Ses, Curtis, Lauren, Julia, Alice & Georgina who made time in our calendars to travel together to Africa with Hands at Work Africa!

My journey (Akika) began with Andrew...

Nearly two years ago, on our first date, Andrew told me about Hands at Work in Africa. I remember thinking how random that this tradie from Sunbury had traveled to so many more African countries than me? And honestly why is he so excited to use his work leave to serve rural poor dangerous communities in Africa?..

I realise now that Andrew had encountered Jesus in a real, personal way through these visits. Andrew’s motivation wasn’t about Africa needing him, or what he could do for it, it was about experiencing Jesus at work, restoring the brokenness of some of the most vulnerable lives and his own life and character was being slowly transformed by these interactions with God.

So I decided to go on the trip he led in 2025, thinking I would “help,” but quickly realised I was the one who needed help. Through the Life Centres safe spaces where children are cared for, nourished, and loved I encountered God in a deeply personal way.I found my own transformation through being a witness the joy and faith of those living in "hopeless situations".

This documentary, Kingdom Culture, invites you to witness our experiences in Africa and explore a deeper relationship with God.
